Have you always harbored the desire to venture out on your own?
Are you seeking a test for yourself? Do you yearn to nurture an idea from its inception?
Becky Verma shared that same sentiment.
Despite her secure but unfulfilling career as a software development manager for a Fortune 500 company, she decided to explore entrepreneurship. And in 2023, becx came into being.
Verma unveiled becx’s flagship product, the SpinnStir, last fall. This handheld mixer efficiently blends powders into water without the usual froth associated with traditional mixers. The SpinnStir enables health enthusiasts to enjoy powdered supplements without clumps or excess bubbles.
Under the guidance of Natasha Marcello, her business coach, Verma brought her product to life and stepped into the role of an entrepreneur she always aspired to be. The one-day presale generated $2,000 in revenue, and her Instagram engagement surged by over 4,000 percent in just two months. Verma is on the verge of selling out her inaugural product batch and has plans to introduce new colors in 2024.
We caught up with Verma to delve into how Foundr’s coaching program helped her navigate the manufacturing and launch of the SpinnStir with confidence.
Q&A With Becky Verma
Q: How did you come up with the business name becx?
A: It’s a playful nickname I was given in my younger years.
Q: What problem does your product solve?
A: The product I currently sell, the SpinnStir, is a replacement for a handheld frother, ideal for mixing greens or protein powders without creating foam. Traditional frothers work well with milk but not necessarily for items like hot chocolate or protein shakes.
Q: How has the Foundr coaching program assisted you?
A: Prior to the Foundr coaching program, I was perplexed about my future and how to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams. Through the coaching program, I managed to develop a product, manufacture it, create a website, and launch a presale.
